The following Carlos & Lata stories in The Winchesters season 1 hint at a deeper investigation of both characters’ pasts and presents. A prequel to the well-liked CW series Supernatural is called The Winchesters. Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester on the television show Supernatural, is the show’s executive producer and narrates it in the voice of his Supernatural persona. Ada (Demetria McKinney), Carlos (Jojo Fleites), and Lata (Nida Khurshid) join the primary pair of John Winchester (Drake Rodger) & Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly) as the hunters who must save the world from the evil Akrida.
What Carlos and Lata may expect when The Winchesters returns on January 24 was revealed by showrunner Robbie Thompson in an interview with TVLine. The Akrida is the primary antagonist of The Winchesters, however, the program has given leeway to explore another monster of the week episode that deepens its characters. According to Thompson, The Winchesters’ episode 8 will accomplish just that for Carlos by revealing his background as a musician. In episode 10, which will examine her developing hunting skills, Lata will also get her moment in the spotlight. You’re going to see some potential romance for both of them, and also see them really challenge themselves — particularly Carlos in Episode 8 (airing Jan. 24). We’re really going to dig into his backstory as a musician, and Jojo [Fleites] did an incredible job in that. We’re also going to see Lata expand her abilities within the core four, and what she brings to the table as a hunter, as well, particularly in Episode 10. [In Episode 8] Carlos and Lata go on a bit of an adventure together, and we’re going to see them working a case on their own.
What viewers can expect when The Winchesters return
Finding Mary’s father, Samuel Campbell, who had vanished in the middle of a hunt, was the primary goal of the opening episode of The Winchesters season 1. In the midseason finale, Tom Welling’s Samuel, who appears in Smallville, confronts Mary and John after saving them from impending death by utilizing the mystical Ostium box to banish the assaulting Akrida to another reality. After seven episodes of fostering their love, Mary and John eventually had a kiss before being saved. The Akrida released their queen at the end of the first episode of The Winchesters.
Mary, John, and the crew will have to cope with the Akrida queen’s immediate danger when The Winchesters return. With the queen now at large, it is anticipated that The Winchesters season 1’s final episodes will be characterized by a feeling of urgency as the Akrida grow closer to eradicating all humans, demons, and monsters from the planet. The Akrida queen of the Winchester family is a very formidable adversary since she draws strength from the essences of rare creatures that her minions gathered in the first half of the season. Sending the queen and the Ostium to a different universe is the only way the group of hunters can exterminate the Akrida.
