Miguel O’Hara, better known as Spider-Man 2099, made his film debut in the original movie’s post-credits sequence and will play a big part in the sequel. Jonathan Ohne, also known as The Spot, is a new antagonist who will make his film debut in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
However, the introduction of a fresh foe brings with it a variety of Spider-Man iterations, several of which were shown in the most recent teaser. The main characters of the sequel will be Jessica Drew and Hobart Brown, aka Spider-Woman and Spider-Punk, respectively. It would be an understatement to say that the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse animation team exceeded expectations. It only goes to show how much they are capitalizing on the Spider-Verse mythology, even though most of the Variants making an appearance will probably be cameos. Given that a female Spider-Verse spinoff is in development, it wouldn’t be surprising if further spinoff films were produced after the latest installment.
