Netflix is about to release The Walking Dead season 11 very soon. The post-apocalyptic zombie series, based on the identically titled comic novel by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, first aired on AMC in 2010. The gory and well-liked drama ran for 11 seasons, garnering 16 Emmy nominations and winning 2. Its cast, which was constantly growing and shrinking, included Laurie Holden, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, and Danai Gurira.

On the website for the whole series on the streaming service, The Walking Dead season 11’s official streaming launch date was quietly announced by Netflix. They announced that the season will start on Friday, January 6, just a few days into the New Year. This occurs on November 20, 2022, a little under two months after the series’ AMC conclusion.

What Lies Ahead for The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Final Season is Coming to Netflix Before Than You Expected 2

The iconic series’ fans have already expressed their sorrow at its conclusion, and those who have been waiting for it to premiere on Netflix won’t take long to feel the same way. The Walking Dead Universe will still remain active in the upcoming years, despite the television series being permanently canceled. The Walking Dead: World Beyond, which ran for two seasons between 2020 and 2021, the prequel Fear the Walking Dead, which has already been shown for seven seasons with an eighth on the coming, and the anthology Tales of the Walking Dead are among the spinoff programs that have already been released (which premiered season 1 earlier in 2022).

There is quite a number more Walking Dead Universe series in development, in addition to the impending Fear the Walking Dead season 8 and a prospective Tales of the Walking Dead season 2 (which AMC has not yet formally confirmed at the time of writing). The Walking Dead: Dead City, which premieres in April 2023, will be the first. It will follow reluctant companions Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) as they encounter a new group of survivors in a zombie-infested Manhattan. After Daryl Dixon (Reedus), a beloved character, unexplainably ends himself in France, a new series will follow him.

One of the most eagerly awaited sequels to The Walking Dead, which was first revealed as a trilogy of films some years ago, is also about to arrive. That proposal has subsequently been reworked into another spinoff television series for AMC, which will focus on the exploits of the original main character Rick Grimes (Lincoln) (Gurira). It will be a love story set in the aftermath of Lincoln’s departure from The Walking Dead season 9.
