Director of Ant-Man 3 Describes How Cassie Is Essential to Scott’s Storyline

Cassie is such a crucial component of Scott Lang’s journey, as revealed by the director of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. After being released from jail, Scott turned to crime to make ends meet so that he could pay child support and maintain his ability to see his daughter Cassie. His sins eventually earned him the brave Ant-Man. Scott succeeded in becoming a superhero, but he could not keep his daughter from being taken away from him. He came back after Thanos’ snap, only to discover that his daughter had grown up five years and that he had missed a sizable portion of her childhood.

Cassie will last be shown as Scott’s equal in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Cassie will battle with Scott in the Quantum Realm, not merely watch from the sidelines as a supporter. Given how perilous the Quantum Realm actually is, Scott and Cassie will have the chance to develop their connection, and the MCU is eager to embrace it. Peyton Reed, the director of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, discusses Cassie’s influence on Scott’s story arc in an interview with Nerdbunker. See what he said below:

“When Paul and I started on the first movie, it was the question of, will audiences accept Paul Rudd as a superhero? Will people accept Ant-Man, a guy who shrinks and controls ants, as a character? And they have. And that’s really gratifying, and I think audiences really relate to Scott Lang because he doesn’t have superpowers, he’s not a super-scientist, he’s not a billionaire. He’s a regular person who just happens to get caught up in these adventures.

But I think we’ve all grown and what we want to do with the movies and how we see the character, the family dynamics, to us, after the events of [Avengers: Infinity War] and Endgame, it really occurred to us, obviously, ‘Well, Cassie’s going to be 18 in this movie, that’s great.’ The whole theme is time and how much time he’s missed, and his main motivation is just, ‘I want time with my daughter.’ And now he’s coming into contact with a villain in this movie, Kang the Conqueror, who has dominion over time, and what does that mean to them?”

A Breakdown of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania

Phase 5 of the MCU will launch with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on February 17, 2023. Loki will appear in the Quantum Realm and engage in combat with Marvel’s smallest heroes after launching the multiverse tale with Jonathan Major’s Kang the Conqueror. Ant-Man could have already encountered Kang because the villain already exists in the tiny realm. Scott had already been imprisoned in the realm and had come back without knowledge of his escape. It’s plausible that Kang offered Ant-Man a hand because of his strength. It could only be a simple reunion for Kang.

In order to escape the Quantum Realm, the heroes Scott, Cassie, Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) will need to work together. Scott will have to work hard to bring his friends and family back home since Kang is pressuring him to accept a bargain in exchange for his freedom. This is especially true because Kang is the only one who has the key to escape. Kang cannot be defeated by Ant-Man and the Wasp alone, especially in light of the Quantumania trailer’s revelation that Kang is in control of a vast army. Hank, Janet, Cassie, and Hope are useful allies to have with Scott since he will need to utilize more than minuscule brute force to escape from that situation.

Where Could Cassie Possibly Go After Ant-Man 3?

A person of Cassie Lang’s potential won’t likely be imprisoned in the Quantum Realm indefinitely. Cassie could easily show up in a future Young Avengers endeavor, especially with the MCU presently assembling a band of legacy heroes, including the younger Hawkeye, Wiccan, Speed, Ms. Marvel, and Ironheart. It would be the ideal setting for Cassie to shine as she did make an early appearance as a Young Avengers member in Marvel Comics. Since Cassie from Ant-Man 3 will play such a significant part in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, she lends weight to the Young Avengers notion that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is actually a Young Avengers film.
