Genya Safin (Daisy Head), a beloved character from Shadow and Bone season 2, comes back in a brand-new image. Leigh Bardugo’s bestselling Grishaverse books, including the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology, were adapted into the fantasy series. Season 1 debuted last year, and season 2 is scheduled to debut on March 16, 2023. While also handling the more heist-focused tales of Kaz Brekker (Freddy Carter) and his Crows, Shadow and Bone will continue to explore the story of the Sun Summoner Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li) as she continues to fight the mysterious General Kirigan (Ben Barnes).
In a recent image from TVLine, the Grisha tailor Genya can be seen hunched over the Queen of Ravka. She appears visibly upset. This is Genya, the Queen from Season 2 of Shadow and Bone, in her first public appearance. Genya’s reintroduction to the narrative and the visceral tension between her and the Queen in this picture immediately elicit many intriguing thoughts about what the upcoming episodes of the series will entail.
How Will Genya’s story unfold in Season 2?
Genya was last seen by viewers when it was revealed that she poisoned the King of Ravka in order to exact the long-awaited retribution she had been waiting for after years of being mistreated by the King. Furthermore, it increased the strength of Genya and the recently scarred Darkling. According to the latest Shadow and Bone image, the Queen of Ravka is probably no longer under quarantine because she no longer has to be protected from her husband’s “illness.” She might now understand what Genya actually did, which would account both her serious demeanour and Genya’s obvious distress. The fact that the Queen revealed to Genya what the Darkling did at the conclusion of Season 1 of Shadow and Bone might also be making her angry.
