Following the leadership shuffle, the survival of the DC sub-franchise is currently in serious jeopardy, making the release of the Fury of the Gods BTS video all the more significant. The newly renamed DC Studios has James Gunn and Peter Safran as its co-CEOs. Their first significant announcement for the new DCU was that Henry Cavill would not be returning as Superman despite Black Adam’s post-credits scene. This has raised fears that a complete reboot is imminent because to the recasting of other heroes, such as Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and Zachary Levi’s Shazam.
Levi’s tone altered when he explained Shazam’s destiny in the midst of the ongoing DC drama, after his suggestion that the recasting allegations were baseless. While the actor thinks Shazam! Fury of Gods is a “pretty good movie,” he has no idea what the character’s future holds. He hopes that the film will put him in a “pretty good position.” Levi also said that he would support Gunn and Safran’s decision to recast Shazam.
The prospects for the new Shazam members are considerably less assured! Fury of the Gods, which features the incredibly gifted Rachel Zegler. The only thing left to do right now is wait until the start of the new year, when Gunn and Safran will disclose their plans for the upcoming DCU slate. Then, on March 17, 2023, Shazam! Fury of Gods will be screened in theatres.
