Drew Barrymore gave her blessing to Selena Gomez’s lip-syncing performance to an old clip of the actress. The Barrymore video in question was taken from an appearance she made on the “Tonight Show” in 1984 when she was nine years old. In May, the host of The Drew Barrymore Show posted it on TikTok, according to People magazine.

The singer can be heard saying: “I love New York!” in the clip, which the actress from 50 First Dates tagged “#TBT.” Barrymore hesitates before answering when David Brenner, a special guest host, asks why she adores the city, “I mean, I love L.A. but I don’t like to dress up in bikinis and go to the beach.” In a now-deleted TikTok, the Only Murders in the Building actress lip-synced to the funny moment, which Drew Barrymore posted on Instagram.

“I love this so much,” Barrymore captioned the post. “I love you. I’m so honoured you used this sound of me from an interview when I was younger!” The last time Drew Barrymore and Selena Gomez were seen together in public was at Britney Spears’ wedding in June, where they hugged up on the dance floor with the newlyweds and each other. Along Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Donatella Versace, and Madonna herself, the erstwhile child stars sung a verse of “Vogue” on the song.
