An exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the Shazam! In Fury of the Gods, the group can be seen taking a break from shooting to dance merrily in honor of Christmas.
The video, which was shared on the One Take News Twitter account, has actors Marta Milans, who plays Rosa Vásquez in this installment after appearing in Shazam!, and Rachel Zegler, who plays Anthea, singing holiday songs while snow falls on the set of the movie. The whole armor of Anthea, which was first seen in early December at Brazil’s 2022 Comic Con Experience, is also shown in the film.
What is Rachel Zegler’s role in the movie Shazam: Fury of the Gods?
Beyond the fact that she will portray the sister of Helen Mirren’s Hespera and Lucy Liu’s Kalypso, collectively known as the Daughters of Atlas, nothing is known about Zegler’s Anthea. In November 2021, Mirren stated, “I’m a member of three goddesses: Lucy Liu as Kalypso and the third goddess portrayed by Rachel Zegler, who will be a tremendous celebrity in a concise time.” “Since it’s so uncommon to spend a whole movie with two other ladies, having the three of us together was truly a terrific experience. You’re the only woman in the cast so frequently. Here, we were a trio, which was fantastic. I was smitten.”
In contrast to Mark Strong’s portrayal of Dr. Sivana from the comic books Shazam!, Mirren, Liu, and Ziegler are all portraying unique roles based on Greek mythology. Director David F. Sandberg stated, “We arrived there since Shazam’s abilities stem from Greek gods. What if the gods are seeking retribution since their powers were taken from them? In contrast to comic comics, he continued, “It was very exciting digging into mythology.”
