Black Panther 3 will have the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever filmmaker on board. The Black Panther’s warrior King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) was killed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s follow-up, which focused on what happened next. Wakanda had to deal with the loss of its monarch after being made known to the outside world, in addition to King Namor of Talokan’s aggressiveness (Tenoch Huerta). Even though a Talokan invasion resulted in the deaths of her mother, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), and several Wakandan citizens, Shuri (Letitia Wright), still grieving for her brother, was forced to battle Namor.

After Chadwick Boseman’s untimely death, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s initial plot had to be totally rewritten by director Ryan Coogler, who also served as screenwriter for the trilogy and helmed the first Black Panther. Despite the sadness that Boseman’s passing caused throughout the entire production, Coogler persisted with it and wants to work on many more Black Panther films. Coogler made it obvious in a conversation with The New York Times that he wants to continue working on the franchise for as long as he can.

Coogler said, “I feel blessed that I have the opportunity to work on these movies, bro. When I got asked to do the first one, it was like a moving train. I thank God every day that I was able to jump on it and meet these people, these actors, and to meet Chadwick during some of the last years of his life. I’ll do it as long as folks will have me. But I think it’s bigger than just me or Joe. Between the first and second movie, we made $2 billion at the box office, which is what matters the most to corporations. So I hope that it continues, man. I hope people are still making movies about Wakanda long after we’re gone.”

What could be the potential plot of Black Panther 3?

There are several possible directions for the tale to go in if Coogler to make a third Black Panther film. Even though the threequel has not yet been confirmed, it is unlikely that the MCU will put an end to the series after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever broke box office records in 2022 by becoming the only movie to retain the top place for four weeks in a row. The Black Panther films have made over $750 million worldwide, making them a tried and true product, but it is unclear what a sequel might look like. A Black Panther 3 could be included in Phase Six of the MCU considering the Marvel slate for that season is not yet complete.

A Black Panther 3 might follow any of the many directions that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hinted at for the MCU’s future. Black Panther 3 might feature that battle since the sequel left King Namor still pursuing a war against the surface world and focused on UN member states hunting out vibranium; nevertheless, should the world once more attack Wakanda, Shuri will have to defend Wakanda alongside King Namor. King T’Challa’s kid, who unexpectedly surfaced at the conclusion of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and will undoubtedly play a significant part as the Wakandan throne’s next monarch, might also be the subject of the movie.
