Will Prepon also appear on-screen in the show?

Prepon spent some time behind the camera even though she won’t be playing the lead like she did on That ’70s Show; nevertheless, it is currently unknown how many episodes of the series she has directed. Prepon wrote on her Instagram post, “So excited for the #That90sShow team!” Prepon wrote on Twitter. “You’ll love this next generation & of course @debrajorupp & @therealkurtwoodsmith are amazing! Thrilled to not only step into Donna’s shoes again (I’ve missed her!) but also to direct episodes, as well.”

Prepon has directed three episodes of Orange Is the New Black and the 2011 TV movie Neighbros, so That ’90s Show is hardly her first directorial gig. The sitcom That ’70s Show, which followed the lives of six adolescents growing up in Point Place, Wisconsin, in the 1970s, ended 17 years before to the start of the spinoff. That 90s Show will investigate what it was like for six young adults growing up in the 1990s using the same concept. The water tower, the Formans’ home, and especially their basement will all be major plot points as they were in the original eight-season television series.

The story revolves around Leia (Callie Haverda), the daughter of Donna and Eric, Jay (Mace Coronel), the son of Jackie and Kelso, the siblings Gwen (Ashley Aufderheide) and Nate (Maxwell Donovan), as well as Nikki (Sam Morelos), Nate’s fiancée, and Ozzie, their mutual friend. Leo played by Tommy Chong and Bob Pinciotti played by Don Stark both made further cameos in the teaser from That ’70s Show. On January 19, Netflix will release the first season of That ’90s Show.
