An important scene from an upcoming episode of How I Met Your Father is hinted at in a brand-new season 2 image. The show will return with season 2 on January 24, 2023. It is a spin-off of the well-known CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother and made its Hulu debut in January. The show centres on the love life of 50-year-old single Sophie (Hilary Duff) in New York City, and which of the guys she met on a special night will become the father of her kid (Kim Cattrall).
TVLine has released a first-look image from season two of How I Met Your Father. The photo indicates that season 1’s mischief won’t be slowing down anytime soon, since Sophie appears to be taking a call while submerged in a kiddie pool that has been set up in the kitchen. This image, according to TVLine, is taken from the January 31 episode of “Midwife Crisis,” which follows her asking Val (Francia Raisa) for assistance with a job she obtained by lying on her resume while holding out to hear from gallery owner Naomi Reisberg and find out whether or not her first portrait has been purchased.
Season 1 of How I Met Your Father has just 10 episodes; however, season 2 is growing significantly and now has a full order of 20. The show’s co-creators Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker say there will be more stand-alone episodes this time around because of the more breathing room. Sometimes moments with “everyone hanging out and having a crazy night together” take precedence over scenes with every episode focusing on deepening the plot and digging the depths of the mystery.
There is currently no information available on any upcoming cameos from How I Met Your Mother in How I Met Your Father. The spinoff series managed to snag a cameo from main cast member Cobie Smulders as Robin Scherbastsky in addition to the appearance of several recurring characters. This has fans wondering if Josh Radnor, Alyson Hannigan, Jason Segel, or Neil Patrick Harris will make any future cameo appearances. While it is yet to be determined, the show may now be watched without cameos, so they might be limited to entertaining Easter eggs rather than overt universe-linking moments.
