Amber Heard claims she and her ex-husband Johnny Depp have resolved their dispute over defamation. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor filed a $50 million slander lawsuit against Heard in May. Heard’s 2018 op-ed article for The Washington Post caused the highly publicized trial. Heard writes of being a victim of sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood in her article, calling herself a “public figure symbolizing domestic abuse.” Heard stated the article had a significant impact on both his personal and professional lives, even though he did not specifically mention Depp by name. He cited the essay as the reason he lost roles.
