The prospect of a probable Season 2 on Prime Video has been anxiously awaited by viewers of the Chris Pratt-starring military thriller The Terminal List. The first season’s eight episodes of the show averaged 1.6 billion minutes of viewing time, making it a huge success in terms of watch time. During an interview on Jack Carr’s podcast, the author of the novel the series was based on, Pratt even hinted that there was more to come. Since then, nothing has happened.

But Head of Television at Amazon Studios Vernon Sanders provided a bit more optimism to followers hoping for Lieutenant Commander James Reece’s comeback during an interview with Collider’s own Steve Weintraub regarding several Prime Video projects. Sanders and Weintraub spoke as a part of a wider interview in which they discussed the popularity of Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which had over 24 billion minutes of streaming content and over 100 million global viewers. The great lineup of series on Prime naturally came up during the talk.

I think that we are cooking up something that, when we’re ready to announce, Terminal List fans will be very excited about. It may be something even more interesting than what you just stated, so hold tight.

Sanders’ remarks are remarkably similar to those made by Pratt back in September in that neither has formally committed to a Season 2 of their respective shows. Instead, it appears the show’s creators are engaged in additional projects, whether they be a multi-season renewal or something else. Fans of The Terminal List will be thrilled to learn from an Amazon executive that the show is taken into consideration.

More Information Regarding The Terminal List

After a crucial mission goes awry, Reece is followed on The Terminal List. He returns to his family after surviving an ambush that killed his whole unit, still unsure of what occurred. He begins looking into the situation, putting together his jumbled recollections, and believing that something sinister is behind their questionable information. When he learns that something more nefarious is going on, he employs all of his military expertise to find those responsible for the killings of his squad.  Jeanne Tripplehorn, Riley Keough, Taylor Kitsch, Constance Wu, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Arlo Mertz all appear in the series in addition to Pratt. While David DiGilio wrote the project, Antoine Fuqua directed the pilot episode and executive produced alongside Pratt.

The series has been favorably received by many viewers, yet it is not without its critics. The retribution storyline, which many have criticized for being predictable, is foremost among the issues. Adding that the show wasn’t intended to appease critics but rather to delight the broad audience, Carr also identified politics as contributing to the cool response from reviewers. Given the 95% public score vs a 39% reviewer score, it’s reasonable to conclude that it succeeded in reaching its intended audience.
