James Gunn clarifies the confusing deleted tweet following Ray Fisher’s remarks

After Justice League actor Ray Fisher remarked on the absence of words from the DC Universe co-boss, James Gunn clarified a deleted tweet that had caused some misunderstanding. One of the biggest understatements concerning Warner Bros. Discovery is to imply that there has been tremendous baggage with the DCU for years. The corporation has been dealing with different behind-the-scenes dramas with a number of DCU properties prior to the debut of DC Studios. Following several charges against Joss Whedon and former WB executives, Justice League became a contentious movie for the company. As Cyborg in the film and its alternate version, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Fisher has been one of the actors who has spoken out the loudest against the poisonous atmosphere he had to work in.

With Gunn and Peter Safran co-running DC Studios, which was established on November 1, the DCU is finally moving ahead. On the other hand, Fisher recently made a Twitter statement on the former’s since-deleted posts about the Justice League scandals earlier this year. It didn’t take long for Gunn to respond, telling Fisher that the reason his tweets were removed was because of a Twitter function that automatically deletes them after a certain period of time. As of the time of publication, Fisher had not replied to Gunn’s answer. Take a look at their original exchange below:

Does James Gunn Plan to Remake Fisher’s Cyborg?

Fisher’s first tweet was sent not long after it was revealed that Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel will not appear in the upcoming Superman film. The Superman tale, which will center on a younger Clark Kent and his early years in Metropolis, is being written by Gunn. Gal Gadot’s involvement in Wonder Woman 3 is also on hold because it is unknown what her role in the DC Universe will be. After Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom opens in theatres in 2023, the Aquaman franchise starring Jason Momoa is apparently not continuing. Ben Affleck’s time as Batman appears to be over after The Flash, despite the fact that he is being considered to helm a DCU film.

It is uncertain if Gunn will reintroduce Fisher’s Cyborg, who hasn’t seen in the DC Universe since Whedon cut the Justice League in 2017. Cyborg hasn’t made any more appearances in the associated movies and TV episodes because Zack Snyder’s Justice League isn’t considered canon in the DC Universe. Cyborg’s position as one of the surviving Justice League members whose future is uncertain, with the DCU appearing to be headed for some sort of reset. Even if Gunn wants to bring Fisher back into the fold, it might not be up to him given the conflict between Warner Bros. and Fisher.
