“Reborn Rich,” currently has the second-highest ratings in cable TV history. The fantasy vengeance drama starring Song Joong Ki rocketed to its greatest viewership ratings yet on December 18 ahead of its penultimate week of airing. The drama’s most recent episode, according to Nielsen Korea, significantly outperformed its prior episode the previous night with an average countrywide rating of 24.9%.
The drama not only set a new record for its viewership, Reborn Rich also surpassed SKY Castle to earn the second-highest ratings ever for a cable drama. The conclusion of SKY Castle, which received an average nationwide rating of 23.8 percent, brought in the greatest ratings of its whole run. The massive 2020 hit “The World of the Married,” which now holds the record for the highest drama ratings in the history of any Korean cable network, now trails only Reborn Rich in popularity, a 28.4% average throughout the board.
Observers are anxiously anticipating how much higher “Reborn Rich” will rise in its final week as there are still two episodes to air on December 24 and 25.
The drama relates the story of Yoon Hyun-woo, a chaebol Soonyang Group higher-up employee who was betrayed and killed by a Soonyang family member. The Jin family, which controls the successful Sunyang Group corporate empire, employs Yoon Hyun Woo as their devoted, assiduous, and dependable secretary. However, the family betrays him one day and frames him for embezzlement.
Shortly after, he passes away, but mysteriously comes “back to life” when he awakens inside Jin Do Joo, the family’s youngest boy. He decides to exact retribution after realising what has happened. He comes up with a scheme to remove the cold-blooded and greedy CEO of the Sunyang Group, Jin Yang Chul. Later, in 1987, Hyun-woo awakens to find that he has been reincarnated into the body of Jin Do-jun, the youngest grandchild of the Soonyang family. He begins his retaliation by planning a hostile takeover of Soonyang Group by taking advantage of the situation.
