While the DC Universe will have more to offer in 2023, the most recent instalment, Black Adam, which centred on the renowned antihero, was released this fall. Black Adam eventually brought the infamous Shazam antagonist to life, as well as the Justice Society of America, after having been linked to the job for a number of years. Johnson still has a potential to play Black Adam again, but perhaps in other movies rather than in a standalone DCU series. Assuming Johnson’s distaste for the Shazam series is untrue but that he actually declined an appearance for Shazam! Fury of the Gods, they might still set up a confrontation between them in a later DC Universe effort.
