The forthcoming Netflix Original film Dog Gone will kick off the new year with a family adventure. We may see a true tear-jerker here, starring Rob Lowe and Johnny Berchtold as a divided father and son who are obliged to trek the Appalachian Trail in order to recover their beloved missing dog, Gonker. Dog Gone, a Netflix original film, is based on the actual tale of a father and son who mend their broken relationship through a forced journey on the Appalachian Trail in search of their beloved lost dog named Gonker. This touching story drew international attention as people from all walks of life joined the search for the sick mutt who had just days to live if he didn’t get his monthly prescription.
Gonker suffered from Addison’s disease, an adrenal insufficiency that required monthly injections. That meant the family only had 23 days to find their pet before he went into a coma.

Who is in the cast of Dog Gone?

Rob Lowe (Netflix’s Holiday in the Wild, Wayne’s World, St. Elmos’ Fire), Johnny Berchtold (The Look-See, Life as Mermaid), and Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Nashville, According to Jim, Father of the Bride) will play the Marshall family as father, son, and mother, respectively.

When will Dog Gone be available on Netflix?

Because of Production Weekly issue 1259, we were aware that Dog Gone’s filming will start in late August 2021. The movie started filming on September 8th, 2021, after a brief pre-production period, and it was finished on January 28th, 2022, after a run of more than four months.
We now have confirmation that Dog Gone will be available on Netflix on Friday, January 13, 2023, according to the advertising materials that Netflix has made available.
