Taron Egerton to Join Apple TV+ Series ‘Firebug’

Taron Egerton will star in the upcoming drama series Firebug, which will follow Egerton’s character as they work with a detective to track down two serial arsonists, according to an announcement from Apple TV+. Executive producing the show will also be performed by Egerton. Firebug is being developed by Black Bird creator Dennis Lehane. In addition, he will write for the show and serve as executive producer. Other works by Lehane include Mr. Mercedes for Audience and The Outsider for HBO.

Along with David Grann’s The Wager and Martin Scorcese and Leonard DiCaprio’s Killers of the Flower Moon, this will be the fourth project from Apple Studios to be produced by Imperative Entertainment. Rocketman’s Elton John, played by Egerton, has a busy release schedule. He revealed his participation in the upcoming Netflix thriller Carry On in July. He’ll take the role of a TSA officer who was threatened into allowing a hazardous package onto a flight on Christmas Day. Egerton is also portraying Henk Rogers, a game publisher, in Tetris: The Movie for Apple.

Although Firebug will be a fictitious series, several of the real-life incidents mentioned in the Firebug podcast served as inspiration. Host of the podcast was Kary Antholis. For Crime Story Media, LLC, Antholis will serve as executive producer, and Marc Smerling of Truth Podcasting Corp. will also serve in this capacity.When Firebug will debut on Apple Tv+ has not been given a firm release date. The previous film Black Bird, which stars Egerton and Lehane, is currently accessible on the streaming service.
