Sadie Sink recently said that she made up a story to land the desired role in the fourth season of the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. Sadie made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday. Sadie gained fame as Max Mayfield in the popular science fiction series Stranger Things. She admitted that she attended an audition when she was 14 years old and was given the part.
The actress recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and opened up about how she “got the role” in the hit show. The actress then admitted that she had lied to land her biggest role to date. She said, “I joined the show in season two and I was a fan of season one before. All of my friends were watching it and everything. I was in the audition process for Max and I think I had done four callbacks, did the screen test and then I found out that I got the role.”
Sadie also revealed that she was at her “speech and debate practice” when she got the call from the show’s creators, The Duffer Brothers. She revealed, “They sent a skateboard to my house the next day and I had to learn how to do that.” She added, “I said I had rollerblading experience, which is just a lie. And the two don’t go hand-in-hand, so I don’t know why I thought that would mean anything.”
The actress even said that she “truly didn’t like it” and “had no idea how to do it.” She continued by acknowledging that she “had a really big fall” on the first day, which “just set a poor tone for the entire voyage.” She earlier admitted that the casting supervisors were reluctant to cast her in season 2 because of her age of 14. Sink insisted on another chance because she believed Max was the perfect part for her and would not accept a no. The producers complied with her request and invited her in for a chemistry read with Matarazzo and McLaughlin. She received word that she had been cast the next day. She said, “I just begged and pleaded with them to give me more material so I could show them something fresh.”
