The second season of Yellowjackets’ launch date has been revealed by Showtime. On Friday, March 24, Showtime subscribers will be able to access and download the eagerly awaited second season. On Sunday, March 26 at 9 p.m. ET, it will later make its television debut. Season 2 of Yellowjackets will give a lot more answers in the present-day timeline, judging by the casting news we’ve learned over the past few months.

Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, and Tawny Cypress play four women who became friends after their high school soccer team was stranded in the harsh Canadian wilderness for 19 months following a plane crash in 1996. With younger actors Sophie Nélisse, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, and Jasmin Savoy Brown playing the roles of Lynskey, Ricci, Lewis, and Cypress, respectively, the show also flashes back to how they managed to survive in the wild. They are joined by Ella Purnell, Courtney Eaton, and Liv Hewson.

Jonathan Lisco directs Yellowjackets, which was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. The creators of Yellowjackets signed an overall deal with Showtime in August, just before Season 2 production got underway. Through this deal, they will oversee new projects for the network without giving up control of Yellowjackets. In Season 1, the show had an average of more than 5 million weekly viewers across all platforms, making it the second-most streamed show in Showtime history.

Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, Steven Krueger, and Warren Kole are among the returning cast members.
