The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, also known as Dahmer – Monster, is the third Netflix series to reach a significant milestone. The series has reached an astounding 1 billion hours seen after dominating the streamer’s charts since its release. It now joins global juggernaut Squid Game and Stranger Things 4 as one of three shows in the streamer’s history to hit that record inside 60 days.

The well-known tv show, which is based on the true account of the cannibalistic serial killer, dramatises the horrifying particulars of Jeffrey Dahmer’s (Evan Peters) murderous rampage. He was found to have killed and dismembered 17 young men between 1978 and the time of his arrest in 1991. He was known to target young men throughout his life. Despite criticism of the show’s content and lack of involvement from the families of the victims, Netflix has revived Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story as an anthology series for at least two more seasons.

Murphy’s other anthology shows, such as American Horror Story and American Crime Story, as well as his upcoming American Sports Story and American Sports Story, would have a similar format. The identity of the serial killer who will be the centre of Monster season 2 has not yet been made public. The following seasons, according to Murphy and Brennan, would be centred on “monstrous people who have touched society.”

Unfortunately, there are plenty of well-known serial killers to pick from for Monster’s next episodes. Given that he made a terrifying cameo in season 1, John Wayne Gacy could seem like an easy candidate. To prevent criticism from critics and grieving family members in the future, Monster may decide to focus on a different killer for season 2 possibly one who was apprehended decades earlier.

It is unlikely that season 2 of Monster will be available on Netflix anytime soon because the renewal announcement for the show is scheduled for early November 2022. It’s likely that Monster won’t return for season 2 of American Crime Story until 2024 at the earliest because the show has traditionally launched a new season every two years. If Murphy or Brennan do not make any further statements, viewers will have to wait to know whose killer will be the focus of Monster season 2.
