Jeff Bridges will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Critics’ Choice Awards

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Jeff Bridges during the 28th annual Critics’ Choice Awards on January 15 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The actor, who presently plays in the drama series The Old Man on FX, has already won a Critics Choice Award for his work in the 2009 movie Crazy Heart, for which he also won an Oscar, a SAG Award, and an Independent Spirit Award. His other roles include Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Starman, The Contender, True Grit, and Hell or High Water, all of which brought him more Oscar nominations. He also received his first Oscar nomination in 1972 for The Last Picture Show.

Additionally, Bridges serves as the spokesperson for the Share Our Strength/No Kid Hungry campaign, which works to eradicate childhood hunger in America. In a statement, Joey Berlin, CEO of the Critics Choice Association, lauded Bridges’ body of work.

“His decades-spanning career is unsurpassed,” Berlin said. “From his start with his dad on Sea Hunt to his legendary role as ‘The Dude’ in The Big Lebowski to his Oscar-winning performance in Crazy Heart, straight through to his great work in The Old Man. We are excited to honor his extraordinary career in front of millions of admirers.

The CW will broadcast The Critics’ Choice Awards live on January 15. (7-10 p.m. ET; delayed PT). Berlin Entertainment and Bob Bain Productions will serve as the show’s executive producers.

The TV category nominees will be revealed on Tuesday.
