In a charming new image for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales reunite and continue their collaboration from the first film. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which took the well-known comic book idea to the big screen, was one of the most popular animated movies in recent years. The movie establishes the concept of Spider-doppelgangers from various realities while presenting Miles, the young hero who carries on Peter Parker’s legacy. With Spider-Man, the franchise is currently moving forward. Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theatres in 2019.

Despite the fact that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse won’t hit theatres for several more months, Sony Pictures has just unveiled a brand-new still from the impending sequel. In the picture, Spider-Gwen and Miles are reunited in a heartwarming reunion. The scene appears to show the two young protagonists sharing a tender moment while gazing out over the city, however, it’s unclear where in the movie it occurs.

There has only been one Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse video, but much information is already available. The first reunion will be between Miles and Spider-Gwen and Peter B. Parker, who will be played by Jake Johnson again in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. But anticipate that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will introduce a number of fresh Spider-people from the Marvel universe.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse introduces at least three new Spider-heroes to the franchise, however, there may be some surprises. Jessica Drew, also known as Spider-Woman, will be voiced by Issa Rae, marking her debut on the big screen. The role of Hobart “Hobie” Brown, also known as Spider-Punk to comic book fans, will be played by Daniel Kaluuya. The Japanese Spider-Man Takuya Yamashiro also makes an appearance in the sequel. After creating an appearance in the post-credits scene in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Miguel O’Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099, will get more development in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Time will tell what other doppelgangers will appear because the movie also focuses on six distinct Spider-Man realities.

Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man has slowed down, it’s still encouraging to see Sony continuing to develop its second Spider-Man franchise, especially in light of how well-received their first Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie did. Because of Miles’ growing popularity in the media, other Spider-Verse characters are now able to receive the attention they deserve. The Spider-Man IP is strengthened by the wide variety of characters that fans may identify with in these movies, including Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Woman, and Spider-Punk. Hopefully, a new Spider-Man trailer will be released by Sony soon. In order to provide more hints about the eagerly awaited sequel, throughout the Spider-Verse.
