The Colombian telenovela Blood Ties (Las Villamizar), produced by Juan Carlos Aparicio and broadcast earlier this year in Colombia, will soon be available on Netflix. The chic historical drama series, which starred Shany Nadan, Mara José Vargas, and Estefana Pieres, aired every night from April through August 2022 on the Colombian television network Caracol Televisión.

The official English logline for the upcoming Netflix series is as follows:
Three wealthy sisters in early 1800s Colombia serve as spies to aid rebels in their struggle against Spanish control and to seek retribution for the murder of their mother.
The series will debut on Netflix with a sizable number of episodes, in the tradition of Telenovelas. There are actually 72 episodes in the entire series, though it’s unclear if Netflix will air them in their entirety or edit them as they have in the past. On December 14, 2022, the series is currently scheduled to launch on Netflix in several countries, including the US and the UK.

The series won’t have an English dub, but it will include English and Brazilian Portuguese subtitles in addition to the original Spanish audio. The Telenovela’s official Netflix page has a trailer for the series.
The streaming rights to several of Caracol Televisión’s most popular programmes, including La Nina (which has just left the service), Pablo Escobar, The Drug Lord, and Pasión de Gavilanes, have been acquired by Netflix over the years.
