Duration of Shazam! According to reports, Fury of the Gods has been revealed.
According to One Take News, the fury of the Gods will be slightly over two hours and ten minutes long. If accurate, the upcoming DC Universe feature will be five minutes longer than the most recent spinoff movie Black Adam and two minutes shorter than 2019’s Shazam! (132 mins) (125 mins). The Shazam! sequel’s length falls somewhere in the middle of the larger DC Universe. With a runtime of 242 minutes, Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) continues to be the longest DCU film, while Birds of Prey (2020) has the shortest.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods will follow the Shazam Family as they battle the Daughters of Atlas—Hespera, Kalypso, and Anthea, played by Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zegler—a few years after the events of the 2019 movie. Recently, director David F. Sandberg gave an explanation for why the DC sequel chose to use Greek mythology-based antagonists rather than threats from the comic books “Because Shazam’s abilities are derived from Greek gods, we arrived there. What if the gods sought retaliation after having their powers taken from them?”
Features of Fury of the Gods More Shazam Family members
Zachary Levi, who made his DC Universe debut in Shazam!, will reprise his role as the title superhero in the upcoming sequel, and Asher Angel will also play Billy Batson, a boy who can become Shazam by speaking the hero’s name. Billy may transform into Shazam and have the knowledge of Solomon, the might of Hercules, the endurance of Atlas, the strength of Zeus, the bravery of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. The Shazam Family will have a bigger role in Fury of the Gods after being briefly introduced at the end of the 2019 movie. The movie’s first trailer shows that Billy is having trouble adjusting to the fact that his foster siblings are superheroes in addition to dealing with imposter syndrome.
As Billy’s foster siblings, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, and Faithe Herman return from the first movie while Adam Brody, Ross Butler, D. J. Cotrona, and Meagan Good play their various adult superhero personas. Grace Fulton, who takes the place of Michelle Borth from the 2019 movie, also makes a comeback as Mary Bromfield, Billy’s elder foster sister. Fulton also portrays her role in adult superhero form. Djimon Hounsou, who plays the legendary magician Shazam, and Marta Milans and Cooper Andrews, who play Billy’s foster parents Rosa and Victor Vásquez, respectively, round out the Fury of the Gods roster.
