Lookism, a new Korean anime series on Netflix that is based on a hugely famous webcomic, was initially scheduled to debut in November 2022. It will finally be released in December 2022 after a delay.
An forthcoming South Korean Netflix Original anime series by the name of Lookism will be based on the same-named Korean webtoon by author Park Hyeong-seok. Lookism’s serialisation first started in 2014 and has since received 8.7 billion views from viewers all over the world. The same animation studio that created The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is responsible for the animated series.

Park Hyung Suk has lived his entire 17 years at the base of the food chain. He is short, fat, and unsightly and is used to bullying from his peers and continual prejudice because of his appearance. He chooses to transfer to Seoul’s Jae Won High School, a vocational preparatory school infamous for its liberal education system and carefree pupils, in an effort to get away from his biggest bully, Lee Tae Sung.
Days prior to his transfer, Hyung Suk awakens to discover that his usual chubby body has been replaced with a perfect one! Hyung Suk, who is tall, attractive, and toned, has evolved into his ideal self. His original body is still next to him, which presents a problem because he awakens in the other body when one of them falls asleep.
Hyung Suk must figure out how to navigate his new, much more popular life at J High while also unravelling the mystery of where his second, nearly superhuman, body originated.
When will Lookism Season 1 be available on Netflix?
Previously, Friday, November 4, 2022, was scheduled as the release date for Lookism. However, the release of Lookism and other Korean programmes was postponed after the horrific events in Itaewon on Halloween 2022 because South Korea went into a period of mourning.
Recently, it was revealed that Lookism would still be available on Netflix in 2022 and would debut on December 8th.
Although we don’t yet know if Lookism will have an English dub, we do know that it will have a Korean dub with English subtitles. Lookism will have additional subtitles available in numerous languages worldwide because it is a global series.
