The highly anticipated third series of Netflix’s popular Regency-era drama Bridgerton is eagerly awaited by the show’s audience. Although Season 3’s actual contents haven’t been made public, Netflix has occasionally revealed tidbits about the upcomingseason, like the fact that it will mostly focus on the romance between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. Fans are now even more anticipating Bridgerton Season 3 as actress Nicola Coughlan gave another significant update.
A video of Coughlan bowing on the set of the streaming sensation was shared by the official Bridgerton Instagram account on November 27. She was wearing the Penelope costume. “Something tells me Miss Featherington’s upcoming third social season will be her most successful yet,” the post’s caption read. Coughlan responded in comments by saying , “Strong agree,” which unsurprisingly grabbed fans’ attention.
The show is a drama set in the realm of the tonne, the top crust neighbourhood of Regency England society, and is based on the romance novel series of the same name by author Julia Quinn. As told by the gossipmongler Lady Whistledown, each season follows the structure of the original novels and focuses on a member of the Bridgerton family finding love.
In Bridgerton Series 3, Colin and Penelope’s romance will be examined rather than following the course of the previous books. When the new season’s plot was first revealed, Couglan posted on Instagram, “Like Lady Whistledown I’ve been keeping quite a big secret for quite a long time … but I can finally tell you that @bridgertonnetflix Season Three is Colin and Penelope’s Story.”
