The next final season of Stranger Things has been eagerly awaited in light of the phenomenal reception that Season 4 of the show garnered. Amid all the fan predictions about what the grand finale would be, the show’s creators recently hinted at some recent adjustments they made to the Season 5 narrative.

According to Comic Book, Ross and Matt Duffer, the show’s creators, teased the show’s last season at WGFestival 2022 (through Netflix’s TUDUM) and discussed how they updated the screenplay and adjusted their original plan for the conclusion after Season 4’s publication. When explaining how the two made their choice, Matt remarked, “We read the text again. That’s cool, that’s cool, we say. That has far more potential. That has a lot more potential.”

When discussing the Stranger Things season finale, Matt stated: “Even the conclusion has changed slightly. Many of the fundamental concepts are the same, but the inner workings are completely different.” The Duffer Brothers previously disclosed that they had created the Season 5 plot idea while the epidemic was going on. Although many think that the fifth season may have seen changes as a result of the fourth season’s reception. The creators of the program have also hinted that a lot of the “huge ending stuff” was inspired by material they first believed would appear in Season 2.

In Season 5, will Eddie Munson be back?

The beloved character of Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, passed away in the second half of the fourth season, which was split into two volumes. The showrunners of Stranger Things may think about bringing Eddie back into the finale by creating a significant twist around his death, according to various fan speculations, even if the character’s death was deeply felt by internet users. Eddie was ambushed by a horde of Demobats in Season 4 Volume 2 while he assisted in diverting them from Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Steve (Joe Keery), and Robin (Maya Hawke). Eventually, Munson was shown passing away in the Upside Down, with Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) discovering him and Eddie expressing his last words to him, “I love you, dude.”

There isn’t currently a date for the premiere of Stranger Things Season 5.
