Jenna Ortega explains how Billie Eilish affected her character Wednesday Addams

Jenna Ortega played the title role of adored Addams Family member Wednesday Addams in the highly anticipated Tim Burton television series Wednesday’s premiere. In an interview with USA Today, Jenna revealed which well-known celebrity had a significant effect on her character’s iconic goth female avatar in addition to her trademark dry wit and feisty appearance.

The 20-year-old actress Jenna Ortega revealed during a candid interview with the magazine that “we weren’t making her like every other young girl” was the most important component of playing Wednesday Addams in Wednesday. Interestingly, Ortega stated that Billie Elish, was on the mood board while Team Wednesday was deciding on the iconic gothic style and costume for her character.

So, it comes as no surprise to us that Wednesday Addams’ appearance was influenced by the vocalist of Happier Than Ever. Additionally, Jenna Ortega’s flawless portrayal of Wednesday Addams, a challenging and difficult role, received high praise from Tim Burton. The Academy Award-nominated Director asserts that Jenna adhered to Wednesday, hitting “the right balance without softening her character, [while] showing sort of a humanness underneath it.”

Wednesday is an eight-episode coming-of-age supernatural horror comedy television series based on The Addams Family members Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones), and Gomez Addams’ (Luis Guzmán) teenage daughter. Wednesday was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Four of its episodes were directed by Tim Burton, who also serves as an executive producer. Notably, Wednesday also stars Christina Ricci, who achieved stardom in 1991’s The Addams Family as Wednesday Addams.
