Openly discussing his decision to stop writing and directing films, Quentin Tarantino. It’s been a long time since Tarantino declared that his tenth movie would be his last, and he appears to be following through on that promise. Tarantino counts that he has written and directed nine films to date; he has won two Oscars for writing. He counts Kill Bill Vols. One and Two is one movie because the two are best known as Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair.
Tarantino explains why his tenth and final film, which is due out soon, will be his last in an interview with YMH Studios. It mostly has to do with how he wants to end his career after the successes he’s had. After the filmography’s conclusion, Tarantino had the following to say:
I’ve done everything I wanted to do. I’ve had just an amazing career. I’ve had amazing amount of luck, amazing good fortune. I had no idea that the audience— in fact, if I had to guess I’d have guessed that the audience wouldn’t accept my movies. And that ended up not being the case. And I’ve been able to work in this business at the highest level a director can work. I wanna leave at that high level. I wanna leave where a new Quentin Tarantino movie coming out is an event. I don’t wanna be just that— “I remember when I was so into him. I remember when I was so passionate— I remember when I had that shit on my wall. He’s fun and everything, but he’s an old man, he’s not the same thing, and he’s out of touch.”
Will Tarantino’s upcoming film continue his perfect run?
Tarantino has produced a good number of films. Since Death Proof, he has won an Academy Award for each and every film he has directed. Additionally, practically all of his films have received the Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh seal of approval. Although there are currently no details about his most recent picture because the director himself claims that it is still in the early phases of development, it is very probable that Tarantino will build on the success of his most recent works. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, his most recent film, is thought to be among his best; Tarantino even called it his best work to date.
Tarantino’s general approach to filmmaking appears to be one factor that frequently sets his projects up for success. He has stated that he will never want to produce because he is so passionate about the craft of filmmaking; he always wants to be the one in the director’s chair.
