Everything We Know So Far About Charlie Cox’s Netflix Series Treason

Treason

Treason will be a new 5-part series from Netflix Studios UK. Daredevil’s Charlie Cox, Olga Kurylenko, and Oona Chaplin will star in the spy thriller. Here’s everything we know so far about the first season of Treason, which will premiere on Netflix in December 2022. The drama, which was first revealed by Deadline on December 16th, 2021, is described as “The Bodyguard meets John Le Carre.”
Netflix Studios UK Limited, along with ITV Studios, Bryncoed Productions, Borderline Productions, and Binocular Productions, is the internal Netflix division producing the series. The show was originally scheduled to have six episodes but has since been reduced to five. Let’s now go over everything else we know about Treason’s first season.

The show’s creator and screenwriter, Matt Charman, is in charge at Netflix. The talented author and producer has previously worked on a number of projects, including the 2015 Steven Spielberg film Bridge of Spies. In terms of television, he has written for the BBC’s 2014 production of Our Zoo and the Acorn TV production of Black Work.

The series will be helmed by Louise Hooper. Although she has contributed to shows including Inside Number 9, Cold Feet, and Lucky Man, she is perhaps best known for the British four-part drama Flesh & Blood. Hooper directed episodes 6 and 7 of season 2 of the Netflix series The Witcher. She will also be directing episodes 10 and 11 of The Sandman on Netflix. Michael Robbins is the line producer, and Tom Maguire, Valery Ryan, and Foz Allan (Rivera) are the producers.

What’s the plot of Treason on Netflix?

Cox will portray MI6 agent Adam Lawrence, who appears to have his life together but has a murky history. When Russian spy Kara reenters his life, he is compelled to risk everything. Kara, Adam, and his wife Maddy then create a triangle with each member attempting to end the other’s life. Here is the new series’ official summary, as provided by Netflix:

Adam Lawrence’s career appears to be set after being trained and developed by MI6. But when Kara, a Russian agent with whom he shares a convoluted past, shows there, she forces him to reflect on everything and everyone in his life. Three people, Kara, Adam, and his wife Maddy, form a triangle relationship as they struggle to keep their personal lives and the people they care about most intact while revealing each other’s secrets and navigating political and diplomatic relationships.
