Taylor Swift made everyone surprised when she unexpectedly showed up at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles for the 2022 American Music Awards, she dazzled in a shimmering gold halter jumpsuit. The singer did not make any mention of attending the Nov. 20 ceremony despite being nominated in several categories.

She didn’t become well-known until she took home the prize for Favorite Pop Album for Red (Taylor’s Version). And she did it with her trademark red lip and a stunning glittery gown by The Blonds, no less. “This album is a re-recorded album, and I cannot tell you how much my re-recorded albums mean to me,” Taylor began her acceptance speech. “But I never expected or assumed that they would mean anything to you.”

She praised the people who supported her vision and agreed to be featured on the re-recorded tunes in addition to expressing her love for her dedicated Swifties. She said, “I want to thank all the artists who featured on the vault tracks, Chris Stapleton, Phoebe Bridgers. I want to thank my touring band, who played on this album.”

Additionally, the Midnights singer thanked her bestie Blake Lively for directing the music video for “I Bet You Think About Me.” She said, “I want to thank you guys for making this a possibility for me,” she concluded. “To the fans, I cannot thank you enough. This is so special, thank you!” Taylor also won Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Female Country Artist, Favorite Country Album, and Artist of the Year in addition to Favorite Pop Album.
