Elizabeth Hurley, a previous co-star, praises Brendan Fraser’s performance in The Whale. The Whale, directed by Darren Aronofsky, has garnered praise for Fraser, a famous cinema actor of the 1990s and 2000s who rose to fame thanks to his major role in The Mummy franchise. The Whale has been screened in a number of festivals, including the Venice Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and the BFI London Film Festival, even though its wide theatrical release is scheduled for December 9.

Fraser’s allegedly moving performance in The Whale has received several prolonged standing ovations at various screenings. A number of celebrities, including Dwayne Johnson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, have praised his Hollywood comeback after the actor’s protracted absence due to numerous personal and professional challenges. While seeing screenings of The Whale, Fraser has also reconnected with a number of his former co-stars, including Michelle Yeoh and Hurley. Hurley, who co-starred with Fraser in the 2000 movie Bedazzled, now speaks candidly with People about her run-in with him at the London premiere of The Whale and heaps of love on him. After the break, see what she has to say:

I would love to work with Brendan again. He was one of my favorite costars. Brendan and I got on so fantastically when we shot Bedazzled and then didn’t speak. We didn’t speak at all until I got invited to this screening of The Whale. And I was so excited that I’d see Brendan again. I just was so bowled over by how fabulous he is in this movie. And Brendan is one of the nicest human beings you could ever meet and I’m just so happy for him that he’s just had this opportunity to shine again. And it was wonderful meeting up with him. It’s been 20 years since I tortured him in Bedazzled. I loved [The Whale] and I love him.

For Bedazzled 2, may Hurley and Fraser reunite?

Questions concerning Fraser’s potential return to The Mummy franchise in the form of a legacy sequel have been raised in light of the actor’s resurgence in his career and his reunions with numerous former co-stars. Hurley’s willingness to collaborate with Fraser once more could spark the idea of a follow-up Bedazzled film, which is intriguing because Fraser could reprise the beloved role of Rick O’Connell. Fraser may play the lead character Elliot in a possible Bedazzled 2 while Hurley would return as her interpretation of the Devil.

The plot of Bedazzled 2 may revolve around a new character caught up in the Devil’s plans because it will be released more than 20 years after the original (which was a remake of a 1967 British film). Elliot may appear in true legacy sequel fashion to assist the new protagonist in breaking free from the situation. Alternately, Hurley’s Devil might decide to seek assistance from a now-satisfied Elliot, altering the dynamics of the first movie in an entertaining turn. Hurley is excited about the possibility of working with Fraser once more, but since Bedazzled director Harold Ramis passed away in 2014, a sequel is less likely to happen, although the actors may collaborate on another project in the future.

Everyone Enjoys Watching Brendan Fraser Be Successful

Hurley’s admiration for Fraser carries on an endearing pattern that began after the actor’s comeback role as a leading man, in which his previous co-stars compliment not only his talent but also the kind of on-set conduct they remember him for. It’s gratifying to see Fraser praised for his good nature after people have become accustomed to getting nasty awakenings about the actions of their favorite performers. A lot of people have been given hope by his triumph over his challenges and return to the spotlight with The Whale, giving them a positive comeback story to aspire to.
