Nickelodeon has picked up Monster High for a second season. The choice was made only a few weeks after the network’s first season launch. Even though the first season hasn’t finished, the network is demonstrating its confidence in the show by approving a second season set at the namesake high school. This is encouraging for the Mattel toy franchise, which recently updated its line of enduring toys by giving its cherished characters a fresh new design.

As they start a new academic year at the titular school, the teenage offspring of several well-known monsters were first shown to us in Season 1. The four ghouls Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura, Frankie Stein, and Deuce Gorgon—who make up the group’s core are shown developing their social and personal lives in addition to their academic careers by coming to terms with who they are and embracing their individual identities while overcoming every challenge to stand out as fierce and fearless beasts. The second season, according to a report from Deadline, will build on the notion of friendship while continuing to explore each of these characters’ backstories and character development. Season two will only include 20 episodes as opposed to 26 in season one.

Before the animated series debuted on October 28th, the franchise’s rebirth was introduced with a live-action musical TV movie called Monster High The Movie, which aired on Nickelodeon on October 6. With the recent approval of a live-action movie sequel by Mattel and Nickelodeon, the Monster High franchise is now even bigger. Filming will start in January. On November 18, the brand-new animated digital original series Monster High Mysteries will make its debut on the official Monster High YouTube channel. The same voice actors from the linear series will appear in its 8 episodes.

An impressive group of actors voices the animated characters in Monster High. They include Courtney Lin as Draculaura, Iris Menas as Frankie Stein, Tony Revolori as Deuce Gorgon, Kausar Mohammed as Cleo De Nile, Valeria Rodriguez as Lagoona Blue, Alexa Kahn as Torelei Stripe, Alexander Polinsky as Heath Burns, and Debra Wilson as Headmistress Bloodgood. Gabrielle Nevaeh Green plays Clawdeen Wolf. In the upcoming second season, each of these actors will return to perform their vocal parts once more.
