CAREY MULLIGAN & ZOE KAZAN’S NEW DRAMA MOVIE, “SHE SAID,” CAN BE VIEWED AND STREAMED ONLINE IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER

She Said

Even while the #MeToo movement had its beginnings in 2006, it wasn’t until 2017 that it truly became a movement that captured the attention of the mainstream media. Sexual assault complaints in the entertainment industry, or any other field for that matter, had long been ignored by prominent men. But if it weren’t for Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, two New York Times investigative reporters who laid everything naked in their piece about Harvey Winestein, our world today would be drastically different.

She Said, a movie based on the two journalists’ best-selling memoir of the same name, stars Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan. Years of investigation, interviews, and conversations with victims who were reluctant to share their experiences about what truly occurs behind closed doors in Hollywood are used to set up the women’s struggle for justice in the film. We can infer from what She Said, a film by Maria Schrader (Love Life, Unorthodox), looks at how these women battled to fully expose Weinstein’s history of predatory behavior.

The consensus on Rotten Tomatoes reads, “Although She Said struggles to add cinematic flair to its fact-based subject, it is a respectable, well-acted monument to journalistic ethics,” with an approval rating of 82%.
