Before entering its second weekend, Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has easily surpassed the $400 million mark at the international box office.

The $400.4 million worldwide gross for the Marvel Studios and Disney blockbuster was reached on Wednesday thanks to domestic box office totals of $213.2 million and $187.2 million. On November 9, Wakanda Forever launched in a few international markets.

The sequel set a November record by debuting at $181 million in North America last weekend. It also had the second-largest opening weekend at the box office so far in 2022, trailing only Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($187.4 million), a film from the same studio. Early this week, the Disney company passed $3 billion in worldwide ticket sales thanks to the movie’s excellent performance. One of the busiest moviegoing weekends of the year is Thanksgiving, and Wakanda Forever is anticipated to maintain its dominance throughout this period.

This weekend, the Black Panther sequel will undoubtedly maintain its lead over other films on the global list. It is anticipated to make at least $70 million domestically, which would put its worldwide gross at $550 million or more by Sunday’s end, making it one of the highest-grossing movies of the year.

The Menu, a new wide release from Searchlight, is expected to debut in the high single digits this weekend at the US box office. The outlook for Universal’s adult drama She Said, which tells the story of Harvey Weinstein’s New York Times exposé, is less promising.

MGM and United Artists’ Bones and All, which will debut in a few theatres on Friday before going worldwide on Thanksgiving, are newcomers at the specialty box office.
