There has been a significant change from Paramore’s last appearance in New York, which occurred in 2018 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center as part of the band’s After Laughter tour. Although the band has always had a fiercely loyal following made up of people of all races, genders, and sexual orientations, when the pandemic brought about the revival of pop punk and alternative music thanks to the success of artists like Olivia Rodrigo and GAYLE, fans of the style went back to the beginning and flocked to Paramore. Paramore’s small performance at the Beacon demonstrates what has always been true about the band: God, it simply feels so nice to see them live once more. The group has been together for over 20 years, with the last five of those years spent on a hiatus.
