manifest season 4 part 1 936x527 1 1

The examination of Cal’s future in Manifest season 4, part 1, prepared the foundation for the character to play a crucial position in the show’s concluding episodes. It has become clear throughout the course of the first three seasons that Cal is more connected to the Callings than any of the other passengers on Flight 828. Finally, the show has shown what his true purpose in their voyage is.

The fourth and final season of Manifest began by answering some unanswered questions about Cal and his role in the overall plot. The most important query, of course, concerned his disappearance and abrupt aging in the season 3 finale. While Manifest refrained from giving all the answers, it did make some startling revelations regarding Ty Doran’s persona. Manifest provided some much-needed understanding about Cal’s connection to the Callings and what it is he is intended to perform throughout the course of a ten-episode tale. Cal appears to be considerably more crucial to the passengers’ future than they could have ever anticipated.

Explanation of the Egyptian Prophecy and Manifest’s Two Dragons

Manifest Season 3’s brief mention of Henry Kim, a traveler on Flight 828, led to the first encounter with the Dragon. Henry claims that both he and Cal are Dragons. They are identifiable by a scar in the form of a dragon on their arms. The significance of it was left unclear for the majority of the season, but Olive and TJ’s research into the Callings’ historical background offered them insight into what being the Dragon actually entails. They were warned about a “monster inside of a sapphire hanging over Maat’s scales” by a prophecy connected to Egyptian mythology. As Olive pointed out, the Lifeboat is referred to as “scales” in the prophecy, which is a fact that was discovered in season 3.

All of this suggests that the Dragon might be able to save the Lifeboat. In the climax, Olive came to the same conclusion when she said that Cal could save the planet. Henry might have been able to play this role as well, but Olive’s statement about being touched by the sapphire distinguishes her from Henry. In Manifest, Henry never got close to an Omega Sapphire. Contrarily, Cal proved he is the true subject of the prophecy in question when he destroyed Angelina’s Omega Sapphire in the Manifest season 4 part 1 finale.

Season 4 of Manifest gave Cal new abilities

Being the Dragon has benefits, as illustrated by the Manifest season 4, part 1 finale. On his deathbed, Cal’s dragon scar began to glow, which sparked a strange, brand-new Calling. Cal managed to split the Omega Sapphire into fragments and pull Angelina into his Calling. This scene’s significance can be seen in Angelina’s shock when it occurred. Although it has long been believed that Cal had a special connection to the Callings, the ability of his persona to draw someone into one was unheard of, even for him. Since he was able to communicate with her and successfully destroy the Omega Sapphire from a distance.

Cal’s new power might prove to be a useful tool going forward, barring the possibility that what he achieved in the finale was an anomaly. If he can repeat what occurred with Angelina and keep pulling other passengers into Callings, he might be able to use this power to track down and contact people like Ben and Michaela if one of them were ever to go missing. Additionally, given that Angelina is still evading capture, the power might be helpful in Manifest’s remaining episodes.
