Jeff Rake, the creator of Manifest, discusses if Angelina will be saved in the series’ climax. The Montego Air Flight 828 passengers and crew mysteriously reappear after being assumed dead for more than five years in the spooky drama, which had its NBC debut in 2018. The show’s cancellation surprised many despite a minor decline in viewership throughout its first three seasons, but fans were delighted when their campaigning efforts resulted in Netflix renewing it for the fourth season. When the first episode of Manifest season 4 part 1 aired in early November, viewers saw several shocking developments, including Angelina (Holly Taylor) growing more dangerous and putting people’s lives in danger by using the Omega Sapphire’s powers to start an apocalypse.
As the story went on, Angelina’s role as an adversary grew increasingly prominent. Fans of Manifest recall everything that transpired before season 4, particularly her murder of Grace and abduction of Eden, whom she felt a connection to in some ways. Angelina used the Omega Sapphire to cause harm and alter the Callings of those who had previously been on flight 828 before absorbing its powers in the most recent episode. Eventually, she came to see herself as an archangel and believe that what she is doing is for the greater good.
Though some could argue that Angelina is well-intentioned, she appears to neglect the harm she is causing to everyone on Manifest, especially Ben. If she genuinely recognises the mistakes in judgement made along the road, perhaps her character can be saved in the end, but for now, she continues to act against everyone else. What she finally decides to do with the powers of the Omega Sapphire can affect the fate of the planet and if she can be forgiven as it looks she may be the source of the apocalypse that the other passengers saw in a Calling.
It will be intriguing to see what precisely occurs next when Manifest resumes with part 2 of its final season and if Angelina ends up being the program’s final major danger. Rake’s remarks suggest that viewers won’t know whether she can be redeemed until the very end, and given all that has happened in previous episodes, anything that would result in a potential redemption would need to be tremendous for viewers to overlook everything she has done.
Although Netflix has not yet confirmed a release date for Manifest season 4, fans of the show are eager to learn more about Angelina’s character development and whether or not she will be saved shortly.
