Ryan Gosling’s The Fall Guy has officially cast Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham. The upcoming action movie will be a reboot of the popular 1980s television series of the same name, which starred Lee Majors, Douglas Barr, and Heather Thomas as Hollywood stunt performers who wind up looking for second jobs as bounty hunters.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hannah Waddingham from Ted Lasso will be joining The Fall Guy’s already ridiculously large cast. Waddingham will take on the role of a stunt-heavy movie producer who is having problems. Production on the upcoming action movie The Fall Guy has begun in Australia. In the upcoming reboot movie The Fall Guy, Gosling will play a stuntman past his prime who regrettably finds himself back on set in the shadow of a famous movie star, but the movie star has mysteriously vanished. This shifts the focus away from a stuntman with a bounty hunter side business.

David Leitch, who previously worked on John Wick and Deadpool 2, will be in charge of directing The Fall Guy. He drew inspiration for the movie from his own professional experiences as a stuntman in Hollywood. It was a no-brainer to bring Waddingham’s unmatched talent to an already stellar cast. The upcoming The Fall Guy movie is already shaping up to be one that nostalgia addicts won’t want to miss with a script penned by Hobbs & Shaw writer Drew Pearce, Leitch in the director’s chair, and an unbelievable star-studded ensemble.

Many are interested to see if Waddingham will be more in line with the stiff persona of her Ted Lasso character from season 1 or the more outgoing personality seen in season 2. The addition of Waddingham’s incredible on-screen talent to the upcoming action film is just the cherry on top. The Fall Guy is now in production, so viewers will need to keep an eye out for new developments as the March 1, 2024, release date approaches.
