Falling for Christmas, starring Lindsay Lohan in her significant comeback, opens the Christmas release schedule this year. centered on hotel heiress Sierra Belmont (Lindsay Lohan), who was taken by her father Beauregard (Jack Wagner) to his opulent ski resort to talk about her new position as the vice president of the atmosphere at his company. But Sierra and Tad, her boyfriend, a British social media influencer, have other ideas (George Young). Just as the couple is about to announce their engagement on social media, Tad and Belmont meet with a catastrophic fall, leaving Tad unconscious on one side of the mountain and Sierra unconscious on the other. Sierra is given a personal assistant (Chase Ramsey) and a glam squad to prepare her for lunch with Daddy. After falling and suffering severe amnesia, Sierra is saved shortly by widowed single father Jake Russell (Chord Overstreet), who starts caring for her.
Sierra starts to master the everyday skills that her existence as an heiress prevented her from learning when she is staying at Jake’s North Star lodge during her memory loss period. Sierra continues to develop a close relationship with Jake’s daughter Avy (Olivia Perez) and his mother-in-law Alejandra as she learns how to make her bed and improves her cooking abilities (Alejandra Flores). Sierra, who takes the name Sarah until she learns who she is, offers to assist Jake as he struggles to run his bed and breakfast while competing with upscale resorts.
Falling for Christmas fits all of the cliches associated with the holiday season. The picturesque snowy vistas and the well-known Christmas decorations are enough to make you happy from across the screen. The presence of epic Christmas songs is another aspect essential for every Christmas rom-com, and fortunately for us, Falling for Christmas does deliver on that front. Fans of Lohan will recognize several references to her earlier, memorable cinematic roles, such as the Mean Girls reference as she sings Jingle Bell Rock and the reference to Just My Luck when she tries to do laundry and again ends up with a messy result.
There is a hangover from Overboard in Lindsay Lohan’s comeback movie. A not-so-memorable meet adorable is another one of the movie’s greater letdowns. You might anticipate that the central couple in this romantic comedy, which is set around the holiday season, would have a memorable first date, but all we get is Sierra’s “Valenyagi” getting a little bit of cocoa on it accidentally. The character of Tad (George Young) is another issue with the movie because of how quickly you grow weary of his loud talk. Additionally, there is a very predictable last-minute twist with Tag’s persona.
