As was previously said, Pilar Fogliati (Corro da te, Un passo dal cielo) plays Gianna, a disillusioned thirty-year-old who despises Christmas with all of her heart. She detests all of the inquiries she makes during this season more than anything else, particularly the one in which she inquires about her current stage of life. Gianna resolves to find someone to bring home for Christmas because she is happy with her life as a single woman with nice friends and a career she enjoys. However, she doesn’t want to be condemned for not having a boyfriend or a family.
Gianna searches for a date for the Christmas dinner over the course of 24 days, learning a lot about herself and about love while doing so, much like an advent calendar made up of blind dates and spontaneous adventures. The show is based on the Norwegian play Christmas with a stranger and is set in the beautiful city of Venice. Along with Pilar Fogliati, Beatrice Arnera (There is no field, You can kiss the groom) and Cecilia Bertozzi play the two friends Titti and Caterina in Odio il Natale. Gianna’s sister Margherita is portrayed by Fiorenza Pieri, and the young woman’s parents are Massimo Rigo and Sabrina Paravicini (A doctor in the family, Lovers and secrets).
Marzia Ubaldi, Nicolas Maupas, Marco Rossetti, Alessio Pratic, Marcos Vinicius Piacentini, Glen Blackhall, Alan Cappelli Goetz, Gabriele Falsetta, and Simonetta Solder are also featured in the cast. We can watch the I Hate Christmas promo while we wait for the series to premiere on December 7:
