We have a lot of questions after seeing the first teaser poster for Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow. Actor Lee Jae Wook will return to the role of Jang Uk, while Go Yoon Jung, who plays Naksu, will take the position of Jung So Min, who played Mudeok, Jang Uk’s love interest and the female lead in part 1 of Alchemy of Souls.
Two hands are seen casually holding one another in the teaser poster. The minute details suggest Mudeok’s return even though they look to be in Jang Uk and Naksu’s hands. As the light beams on them, the yin and yang jades that Jang Uk and Mudeok traded can be seen dangling between their fingers. The woman’s hand is dressed in lighter, cream-colored attire, while Jang Uk is wearing black robes, alluding to the drama’s theme of “Light and Shadow.”
The four seasons of the land, known for their visuals and energies, are represented in the fantasy drama, which also stars Yoo In Soo, Hwang Min Hyuk, and Arin from OH, MY GIRL. Daeho is an imaginary land with mages, energies, and powers. While Jang Uk had little to his name, was referred to as the son of one of the most powerful mages, and was not permitted to hone his abilities, the final act of Alchemy of Souls saw him rise from the dead after gaining the energy of the ice stone and waging war on those who had wronged him and his lover. Now he can use Naksu’s sword without letting it overwhelm him or draining his own power. Three years have passed since the first trailer for Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, and Jang Uk is now prepared to face evil with his newly honed abilities.
Ten episodes of Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow will be released starting on December 10.
