Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown shares why she wants to portray Britney Spears in a movie. Brown first became well-known for her role as Eleven in the hugely popular Netflix series Stranger Things. Brown was only 12 years old in the first season of Stranger Things, and her rapid fame prompted harsh criticism, especially online. Due to online harassment in 2018, when Brown was 14 years old, she cancelled her Twitter account. Brown has also claimed that after turning 18 in February of this year, she has experienced frequent sexualization and harassment online, especially on Instagram.
Despite the criticism, Brown has continued to advance in her profession; most recently, she starred in the November debut of the Netflix film Enola Holmes 2. In an interview with Drew Barrymore on her talk show, Brown declares that one day she hopes to play Britney Spears in a movie. Although there are no present plans to make a movie on Spears, Brown claims that she wants to play a genuine person and that she can identify with Spears.
She said, “I think her story resonates with me. Just growing up, watching her videos, watching interviews of her when she was younger I see the scramble for words and I don’t know her, but when I look up pictures of her I feel like I could tell her story in the right way and hers only.” Brown continues by claiming that the movie business has been challenging for her to work in since she has frequently been “undermined in the past.”
Brown, however, also emphasises the significance of her Enola Holmes series, claiming that she wasn’t undermined in this position and that being allowed to appear in two films with female leads is a step forward. Spears experienced with many identical issues, including intense sexualization, serious harassment, and routine undermining by men in her business, much like the difficulties Brown has had in her career. As she struggled to end her conservatorship, which lasted for 13 years before being eventually cancelled in November 2021, Spears has been in the news for the previous few years.
