Salma Hayek and Anne Hathaway Star in the Seesaw Monster Netflix Adaptation

Seesaw Monster 1

The feature film rights to Ktar Isaka’s Seesaw Monster have been acquired by Netflix, with Salma Hayek Pinault and Anne Hathaway set to star. The Netflix film is currently in development and will be based on Ktar Isaka’s 2019 novel Seesaw Monster, which is described as a mystery thriller. This is the most recent adaptation of a novel by the Japanese author. Bullet Train, a Sony film starring Brad Pitt, was based on Ktar Isaka’s 2010 novel of the same name. Yuma Terada (CTB Inc.) is a producer on both that film and Netflix’s adaptation of Seesaw Monster. Bullet Train recently debuted on Netflix India and will be available on Netflix US by the end of 2022.

The screenplay for the Netflix adaption will be written by Olivia Milch, although specifics about the plot are being withheld at this moment. Best recognised for her work on Ocean’s 8, Milch was cast in the 2018 Netflix film Dude, which debuted all over the world. Awkwafina, Lucy Hale, Kathryn Prescott, and Alexandra Shipp all starred in the teen comedy. Salma Hayek Pinault and Anne Hathaway will play the two roles and serve as producers. The most well-known performances of Anne Hathaway are those in Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, Les Misérables, and more recently, The Witches on HBO Max.

Hathaway and Ben Affleck co-starred in The Last Thing He Wanted for Netflix, which was released in 2020. In November 2022, she will also contribute her voice to the new Storybots television series. Salma Hayek Pinault has yet to appear in a Netflix Original film that has been made public, but that will soon change. She will appear as a guest star in Black Mirror’s upcoming season and is an executive producer on the upcoming film Monarch.

The producers of the Seesaw Monster adaptation will include Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma Terada, who worked on the Bullet Train film, as well as Akiva Goldsman and Gregory Lessans of Weed Road Pictures, Hayek Pinault of Ventanarosa Productions, Anne Hathaway of Somewhere Pictures, and Hayek Pinault of Weed Road Pictures. Along with Milch, executive producers include Adam Shulman, Siobhan Flynn, Jose Tamez, and Johnathan Rice from Somewhere Pictures, Ventanarosa Productions, and Jose Tamez.
