Apple TV+ is letting fans know to expect more Bad Sisters just about a month after its widely praised finale. The dark comedy murder mystery’s second season has been renewed, the streamer announced today. The creator of the series is BAFTA winner Sharon Horgan.

Following a close-knit group of five sisters, Bad Sisters is based on the Dutch television series Clan. But when one of the sisters marries an abusive husband, it strains their relationships, and the other four start planning to kill him. The narrative is divided into two timelines: one during the sisters’ murderous planning and the other following the funeral, when two life insurance detectives start looking into the death.

With Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene, and Eve Hewson portraying her sisters, Horgan leads the cast as well. Claes Bang, Brian Gleeson, Daryl McCormack, Assaad Bouab, and Saise Quinn fill out the rest of the ensemble cast. The actors that will return for the second season have not yet been given an official announcement.

Horgan said in a statement, “If you’d have told me three years ago that I’d be making a series about five murderous sisters chasing a man around Ireland trying to kill him I’d have said; yeah, that sounds about right. The response to our show had been beyond what we could have hoped for. It gave us the opportunity to shine a light on stories that don’t always get such a global platform. I look forward to getting chilly in the Irish Sea one more time.”

Together with Brett Baer and Dave Finkel, Horgan adapted the Malin-Sarah Gozin original serial into the new series. The smash Prime Video series Catastrophe, which Horgan created and starred in, is what made him most famous. She has also produced television shows such Motherland, Shinning Vale, and Divorce. The critically acclaimed comedy shows Baer and Finkel are most known for executive producing include 30 Rock, New Girl, and United States of Tara.
