Henry Cavill’s comeback as Superman has thrilled fans, but his departure from The Witcher has many of them in mourning. For the uninitiated, the Enola Holmes 2 star recently declared that he would not be participating in the fourth season of the popular show. Soon later, rumours surfaced suggesting that his return as the DC superhero might be the cause of this.

The actor will reportedly make another film appearance after his cameo in Black Adam, which is Man of Steel 2. While some people were happy to see him back, others were sad to see him leave the show. As a result, fans started an online petition to get him back. Fans frequently start petitions calling for an actor or actress to leave a production or come back. People have previously started petitions calling for Johnny Depp to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6. In addition, there are petitions calling for Amber Heard to be dropped from Aquaman 2. Now it’s Henry Cavill’s chance to make a comeback in The Witcher.

The petition was started on Change.org and is titled, “NETFLIX: You MUST keep Henry Cavill as The Witcher and replace the writers instead.” It has gathered more than 100,000 or 1 lakh signatures in just one week. It currently has 1,26,299 signs, and that number keeps increasing. Cavill was a big part of why the Netflix series became so popular. The preceding seasons rose to the top of the streaming service’s most popular ones. Henry has neither acknowledged nor refuted the rumour that he departed the series because of Superman.

Additionally, a claim that Cavill was so dissatisfied with the course of the show that he pondered departing after the second season, with him wanting a new version of Geralt that adhered more closely to that in the novels as at least one reason, gave us another potential update. The actor openly discussed his love of the books and video games, and people in the know have commented on how hard he worked to land the role and fully embody his persona. When you put all of these things together, the petition’s stance does make some sense.
