Plot

Moz (Alabi) and Cocoa (Mowry) McKellan relocated to Columbus, Georgia, from Seattle a few years ago to raise their children, and have been residing there with Moz’s parents, M’Dear (Devine) and Jeb (Roundtree).

Skye, Moz and Cocoa’s fifth child, is born at the start of Part 5, as their eldest, Jade (Jackson), is getting ready to go to college. Shaka is away to a prestigious boarding school in Massachusetts, but Mazzi (Wright) and Ami (James) are still at home keeping Moz and Cocoa on their toes. Their other children are also maturing quickly.

In an effort to revive their stale marriage and get some rest, Cocoa and Moz also try to support Cocoa’s sister, who is raising her son Tyson (Wardlaw) alone. Meanwhile, Jeb must make a crucial choice about his health. M’Dear continues to rule over everything, encouraging her family to have confidence in God and, in times of doubt, to emulate her. The McKellans unite at the end of Part 5 to address a long-standing injustice.

Columbus, Georgia serves as the backdrop for Family Reunion Part 5.
