It was initially nerve-wracking for Sydney Sweeney to work with co-star Dakota Johnson on Sony’s next Marvel movie “Madame Web,” she admitted on the red carpet of the 11th annual LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday.

Sweeney described her feeling when she first saw her co-star in person Variety’s Marc Malkin as being “a bit apprehensive.” The actress revealed that Johnson has always been a favorite of hers. “I must admit, I read ’50 Shades of Grey’ in secret in high school. I watched it despite my parents not letting me. I’m thus a major fan of hers. She’s incredibly gorgeous.”

“Have you mentioned that to her?” Malkin posed the question, and the “Euphoria” star chuckled and answered, “No! Dakota, though, you’re attractive and I enjoyed working with you.”

Johnson is portraying Cassandra “Madame” Web, the movie’s title character, while Sweeney’s part is being kept a closely-guarded secret by the producers. Details of the plot are still yet unknown. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters in February 2024.

Sweeney was most recently attached to appear in a “Barbarella” movie for Sony, following in the footsteps of the original 1968 space opera starring Jane Fonda and based on a series of comic books by French author and artist Jean-Claude Forest. The movie is still in the early stages of development, and there isn’t a producer, writer, or director involved. After wrapping up Season 3 of “Euphoria,” which the actor indicated would resume filming “soon,” Sweeney said “Barbarella” will begin shooting.

It’s difficult, Sweeney said, “I feel like my whole existence is a mystery.”
