Peter Berg and Eric Newman are developing an American Primeval series for Netflix

American Primeval

Two creators with overall deals are looking forward to their next endeavour with Netflix, a new limited series called American Primeval. The new series’ details are scarce, although two sources claim that it will begin filming in New Mexico, United States, as early as February 2023. Here’s a description of the next series, which is presently in production:
“While travelling West with her son, Sara joins a Mormon caravan heading in the same direction, but a deadly struggle breaks out between Native Americans and people claiming the area for themselves.”

The casting director for the upcoming show is Rachel Tenner. The cinematographer/director of photography will be Armando Salas. Grand Electric and Peter Berg’s Film 44 are working together on the project (helmed by Eric Newman). Both are covered under Netflix’s general contracts, and they previously collaborated on the upcoming limited series Painkiller.
The series is anticipated to be directed by Peter Berg, with Eric Newman serving as producer. In March 2021, Berg and Film 44 agreed to a contract whereby he will develop and direct new films and television shows for the streaming service. He has so far given Spenser Confidential. After three years, that agreement is anticipated to expire in the early months of 2023.

In addition, Berg was an executive producer on the cancelled The Green Beret’s Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse series and is currently the pilot director for the limited series Painkiller. Through Grand Electric, Eric Newman has contributed to numerous Netflix productions throughout the years, and there will be more. He originally made his agreement in 2020, and it is scheduled to expire at the end of current year. Other Netflix projects by Newman include Griselda, Rebel Moon, and The Upper World.
